“Not yet.” Mei slightly shook her head, expecting that such an unavoidable question would be asked again and again and again.
“She is nearly thirty, right?” the woman began to harden her tone, suggestively, “Isn’t thirty right up the stake?”
“True.” Mei said flatly, trying to preserve her words. But on the other hand, she didn’t want to upset the woman either. Without being able to fi nd the proper phrase in her home dialect, she just wished to enter her home sooner. But exasperatingly the unsatisfi ed woman continued her monologue.
